Discovering new things is a huge and vital part of your child’s development, that’s why it’s so important to support it. It doesn’t matter if your kid shows interest in music, sports, drawing or cars – everything can change in the future but you should always be there for them, interested and eager to help. How can you make sure that your child’s interests develop properly?
Help them know the world
It’s essential to help your child see the whole picture and get to know the world by engaging all their senses. Are they fans of trucks? Buy them books and show videos about trucks. Take them to the local fire station and compare their toy firetruck with the real one. Do they show interest in sports? Take them to see the game or even sign them up to train with the local children team – no pressure, though. Make sure they know they can resign if they don’t like it.
Teach them through play
It’s good to know what your child is interested in because you can use it to teach them something they might not like. Teach them letters and numbers with their favourite toy cars or while running around and kicking a ball. The kid won’t even know it’s learning time and you will have an opportunity to bond and know each other even better.
