If you’re reading this then you probably need some TLC. But, like most people you always feel like there’s never enough time or money to spoil yourself. Today we’re going to debunk that myth. Here are five tips on how to pamper yourself on a budget:
Exfoliate
Use a body scrub to exfoliate your skin at home. You can make your own DIY body scrub at home, or buy one of many available on the market. You only need a small amount for each body part and you’ll get spa-like results after.
The best time to exfoliate your body is when you’re in the shower while your body’s a bit damp. Make sure to use circular motions and vigorous movements before you rinse off.
Another quick form of exfoliation that you can do at home is known as dry body brushing. It only takes three minutes, and you can do it before you get in the shower.
Dry body brushing helps to remove dead skin cells, improves circulation and assists with lymphatic drainage throughout the body. Your skin will soak up the body butter and creams you put on afterward so they can work their magic.
Go to the dentist
Part of feeling your best is looking your best, which includes your smile. Consider visiting a dentist and asking about teeth whitening treatments. It’s a great way to transform your look and boost your confidence, which is what spoiling yourself is all about.
Take a luxurious bath
Do you ever come home from a long day at work with the sole desire to just throw your bags down, take your shoes off and relax? Taking a bath is one of the fastest and easiest ways to do this. Just throw in a few fancy ingredients like Epsom salts, essential oils, a fragrant candle and maybe even a glass of wine. Although this seems pretty obvious, very few people actually take the time to savor a relaxing weekly bath.
For best results, start by drawing a warm bath while removing your makeup with face wipes. Then, tie up your hair so you can truly sink into the bath and relax. Sprinkle a bit of Epsom salt, apply a facemask, light a candle, grab a book or play some music and let the relaxation begin! You can follow up your bath with a nice hot cup of tea and maybe read a book or watch some Netflix. Or sleep early because that’s also a great way to pamper yourself.
Give yourself a mini-facial
Mini-facials are a great way to thank your skin for looking good all week. Start by adding a bit of exfoliation on the face to remove dead skin cells before applying a face mask. You could even sit on the bath for 15 minutes while the mask is on.
Hydration masks come highly recommended for their anti-aging properties and the ability to help with dehydration. They’re also helpful for anyone that works in an artificially ventilated environment.
Try a face massage
Try a facial pressure point massage to relax your face and boost skin circulation. You can do this while applying serum during your night-time skin routine. Follow it up with moisturizer and within a few minutes, you’ll get rid of puffy eyes to reveal a more youthful-looking appearance.
Whether you work full-time, go to school or have kids, it’s important to reward yourself for all the hard work you put in. You can pamper yourself in your room, in your living room or your bathtub. The most important thing is to set the mood for mental and physical relaxation.
